Encode URL in email_surveyhtml/ email_surveytext template

I customised email survey template(email_surveyhtml/ email_surveytext) to pass custom link instead of default Kayako survey link. And in the URL I am also passing created date and updated date, as there are spaces in created date and updated date the link sent is not hyperlinked troughout in the mail received.
Any help on this.
